The character of the Route:
Çayağızı Village, which reflects the cultural adventure of Anatolia with both its castle and the sacred center of Cambaz Pir, is the starting point of the route with a pleasant exit. Indeed, the paths adorned with legends rise gently and follow a straight course after 2.33km. When it reaches an altitude of 1552m, the route comes face to face with the Çayağzı Castle ruin - in the northeast - and returns to Çayağızı Village with a gentle descent offering impressive views.
Notes to Travelers:
• Do not leave without tasting the "Cemele Pepper", which has a geographical indication and is in high demand with its thin skin and unique bitter taste, grown in Çayağızı Village.
• The castle located on the hill to the east of Çayağızı PTT Branch, 14th century. In the beginning, it formed the border between Kadı Burhanettin and the Ottoman Empire. Later, the castle, which was owned by Karamanoğulları, was taken by Çelebi Mehmet.
• The visiting place of Cambaz Pir, located in Çayağızi Village, is important in terms of showing the continuity of the sacred within the culture.
• You can visit the grave of Cambaz Pir, who is featured in the Battal Gazi Epic of the Christian saint Mamas.
