Ulukışla – Altay – Altunhisar
The character of the route:
Ulukışla Train Station, which is a part of the cultural adventure experienced in Anatolia, is the beginning of this adventurous route. Ulukışla, which carries traces of the War of Independence in particular, is one of the essential passages of Central Anatolia. This explorer-spirited track, which uses the travelers' waypoint, descends to the village of Badak at the 24th km after climbing a gentle slope of 5.5km. After this point, the route, which proceeds on a straight road, visits the plain villages and reaches Altunhisar Town Center.
Notes to Travelers:
• You can visit the 16th-century caravanserai built by Öküz Mehmet Pasha and enjoy the bath. This caravanserai was used to store weapons during the War of Independence. Arms were distributed to the Kuva-i Milliye by order of Atatürk, who was in Ulukışla for a short time.
• You can enjoy the scenery in the Zindan Mansion, surrounded by small ponds in Altunhisar Zindan Valley, and visit the historical mosque named after Karamanoğlu Yakup Bey, one of the old Turkish gentlemen.
• You can find local flavors in the pleasant restaurants in Altunhisar.
