Niğde – Gebere Pond

The character of the Route:

The route, which sets out from Niğde, carries the traces of the cultural adventure experienced in Anatolia. The track, which proceeds on a gently sloping ramp, turns towards Gebere Pond, one of the first dams of the Republic of Turkey, after visiting the old Greek village in greenery and touching some history. This route, which will be enjoyed by families who love active holidays, ends in a pond with a height of approximately 2100 meters, built about 25 years after the pre-Republican Niğde Deputy Muhiddin Efendi presented the issue of dam construction to Talat Pasha (1941).

Notes to Travelers:

If you want to examine the Anatolian culture briefly, you can have a pleasant time at the Archeology Museum of Niğde.
You can take impressive photos at Niğde,  Cullaz Sokak's famous historical center, and the Seljuk heritage Alaaddin Mosque (active since 1223 AD) and visit the Niğde Castle, located in the heart of the city.
You can photograph the Gündoğdu Tomb and the original architectural tomb that Hüdavend Hatun had built for her in Niğde in 1312.
In Yeşilburç, one of the exchanged villages, you can taste the local delicacies owned by the Dene Women's Cooperative and visit the small underground city.
If you are interested in history and local beliefs, you can visit the Greek church in Yeşilburç, the old Greek settlement.
You can enjoy the scenery at Gebere Pond, one of the first dams of the Republic, and have a picnic in the recreation area.
