Kemerhisar - Ulukışla
The character of the Route:
The route, which sets out from the ancient city of Tyana, which bears the traces of the cultural adventure experienced in Anatolia, rises gently and glides towards the Silk Road through the hills caused by the volcanoes. At the 12th km, after passing the lavender gardens of Bereket village, it ascends and continues to climb until the 28th km. After this point, the route, which leads to Ulukışla, the transition point between the mountains with a slight descent, ends at Ulukışla Train Station, which many heroes defended at the cost of their lives during the War of Independence.
Notes to Travelers:
• If you are interested in history, visit the ancient city of Tyana. You can see Köşkhöyük, which dates back to 6000 years, and photograph the original origin of some of the Neolithic ceramics in the Niğde Museum.
• After visiting the Roman Bath in Kemerhisar, you can try restaurants that serve delicious meals.
• In Ulukışla, you can visit the Caravanserai, which is the subject of Faruk Nafız Çamlıbel's poem called Han Walls, built by Öküz Mehmet Pasha, one of the Ottoman grand viziers, and actively serving.
• If you are interested in history, 25 km from Ulukışla. You can explore the tomb of Empress Faustina (125-176), wife of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-180), located in the northeast.
• You can eat delicious meals at restaurants in Ulukışla.
