Göreme - Kavak - Gomeda Valley - Ürgüp - Göreme
Notes to Travelers:
You can find beverages suitable to your taste such as tea, coffee, and fruit juice in the modest cafe you will see in the valley.
Keep your bicycle bottle and a spare water bottle full as there is no opportunity to find water on the route.
There are many cafes and restaurants in Urgup and Goreme. You can taste the flavours of the region in a restaurant that suits your budget and taste.
Characteristics of the Route:
Starting from the Goreme valley system towards epic regions, half of the route follows narrow-single tracks, and the other half follows fast and open tractor roads between villages. This route has the fresh smell of the countryside on the Kavak village road and lets you enjoy the time slowing down in the coffeehouse of the village after passing through the fields.
Immediately after leaving the village, an enjoyable, bumpy BMX track with many different lines awaits the riders. The final difficult descent into the valley continues with stream crossings, wooden bridges, and rocky river beds on paths with the feeling of a forest. Passing by multi-story dovecotes carved into the rocks, the route reaches Urgup, a developed district, with a comfortable descent. After visiting Urgup, the route continues with a gentle ascend in the valley on a shaded road, regaining elevation without much effort and reaches the sunset point.
Offering a magnificent view along the ridge of Kiliclar valley on the way back to Goreme, this track is one of the best routes in the region. The iconic sights of Goreme urge you to take photos as you ride along the wavy trails of Kiliclar Valley.
