Derinkuyu - Yazıhüyük - Nevşehir
Characteristics of the Route:
This route, which experienced cyclists will enjoy, starts in Derinkuyu Underground City built with incredible logic. The route starts to ascend after Acigol Volcanic Complex and passes through the region of geological wonders including domes (layered, dome-like structures formed on the earth as a result of internal pressures) and maars (water-filled craters) without water. Passing through the geography covered with black-red slag (oxidation of light metal in contact with the air: metal mould) of volcanic tuff, the route passes by Topada Inscription written in Luwian hieroglyphs bearing traces of ancient times. After the inscription describing the military achievements of Wasusarma, the Great King of the Tabal Kingdom which still preserves its mystery, and especially the struggle against the city of Parzuta, the route goes to Nevsehir, passing through the 2 maars that are on the way out of Acigl.
