Derinkuyu - Acıgöl - Nevşehir
Characteristics of the Route:
The route starts from Derinkuyu Underground City. Despite being a long route, it is always enjoyable to ride as the frequent descents allow cyclists to rest.Passing through the famous potato fields of Nevsehir, the route goes towards the Acigol Volcanic Complex.The route starts to follow the volcanic formations when it reaches Suvermez village, with surprising and even incredibly young volcanic structures. 13 layers of tephra ("ash" in Greek) resulting from a volcanic eruption dating back 11,000 to 4300 years were found in the caldera of Acigol. Moreover, it was understood that the ash layers from the volcanic eruptions of 2300-1850 BC covered the Cappadocia/Roman period works. This long journey of discovery full of surprises passes between two maar formations without water on the right and left side of the road, passes by the town center of Acigol, and ends in Nevsehir, which was founded by a Grand Vizier in the Tulip Period.

There is an entry fee to Derinkuyu Underground City and the museum card is valid.
Keep your bicycle bottle and a spare water bottle full as you won't find water frequently on the route.
