In Avanos, famous for its ceramic workshops near Kizilirmak, you can sit beside the potter's wheel and shape the clay of the river.

Keep your bicycle bottle full as you won't find water on the route.

There is an entry fee to Ozkonak Archeological Site and the museum card is valid. 

Characteristics of the Route:

The route starts in Avanos, a settlement near Turkey's longest river and has been shaping the clay of the river for thousands of years, and ascends on a slope immediately. The first part of the route goes uphill and starts descending after 9 km. Following comfortable wide dirt roads, the route ends in Ozkonak Underground City. Ozkonak Underground City, one of more than 200 underground cities in the Land of Fairy Chimneys, offers the cyclists a pleasant break with its mysterious atmosphere that remains cool in summer and warm in winter.
