Akpınar - Kalehöyük - Kaman
The character of the Route:
This sportive route climbs for 14 km, visiting villages accompanied by idyllic landscapes. Reaching its highest point right after leaving İsahocalı Village behind, the track turns into a fun ride on wavy paths. The route follows a straight course at the 25th km and stops at an exquisite museum that allows us to touch the prehistoric ages. The visit to the museum built by the Japanese is followed by the Japanese Garden, which is also maintained by the Japanese. This route, full of surprises, ends in Kaman, a district famous for its walnuts.
Notes to Travelers:
• You can visit the Kaman Kalehöyük Archeology Museum, which was built with the cooperation of the Japanese and Turkish governments and where the 5 thousand years of history of the city is exhibited. There is an entrance fee.
• You can visit the Japanese Garden in Kaman, inspired by a geographical region in China and tended by the Japanese.
• You can taste Kaman's famous walnuts and try Kaman's butter bun, which is available in abundance on special occasions.
• You can also buy instruments made in the order of Neşat Ertaş, the famous poet of Anatolia, in this region.
• You can taste Kaman's local dish, besmechi (meatballs with bulgur cooked on the stove).
• If you are interested in folk heroes, you can visit the grave of Dadaloğlu, a folk poet who opposed the Ottoman Empire's policy of settling Anatolian Turkmens.
• Make sure you have enough water and snacks while driving.
