Acıgöl - Koni - Dom - Karapınar
Characteristics of the Route:
Volcanologists say that one of the unsung heroes who caused Nevsehir's surreal geography started its activities millions of years ago in Acigol.The route starts from Acigol, which is thought to have been built on the caldera* of this supervolcano, follows mainly dirt roads, and ascends to a unique dome containing scarlet obsidian flows, which has few examples in the world. This short but challenging ascent is followed by a descent that will cool you off with your own wind. The route continues on a flat trail among the fields for a short time, passes by the cone, ascends slightly on a smooth ramp, circles around the dome, and ends in the Karapinar, a village located near the dome.

After the first ascent, it is possible to walk to the top of the dome.
You can find obsidian stones unique to the Volcanic Complex in Acigol.
Make sure your bicycle bottle is full as you will have limited opportunities to find water on the route.
